We had a great memorial day. We moved Evan's slide outside in the morning. Then we had dinner outside on the deck. I made "BBQ" food inside and then brought our plates out. We figured the BBQ grill would be trouble for Evan. After the kids went to bed ray and I had vegetarian s'mores.

Daddy picked out these jammies.

Our son can count. He's been going around the house counting to himself. He goes from 1-10. Sometimes he skips to 5. Or he'll go from 11-14. He's only done that once though. And tonight I asked him how many eyes I have. He counted one, two, and then pointed to my nose and said three. It's interesting though. I figured it would take longer for him to learn numbers and then to understand that they correspond to objects. Although we already knew that he's a genius.

We went down to will's to return his ladder and we hung out for a while and then decided to go out to dinner when Ryan got home. So we headed out and we were about five minutes from the restaurant waiting for the cars to clear so I could turn right. All of the sudden someone hit us from behind. Everyone is fine. We now have a crack in the bumper on the left side. Not too bad though. So the kids have both been in an accident now before they were even three. But it wasn't a big one. I even feed grace while we were waiting for the cop and ev watched tv while we were getting everything taken care of. So no big deal. Afterwards we had a nice dinner with will and ryan.

I took the kids to the zoo for zoo friends day. They have sting rays and sharks for the summer. Although they wouldn't let me bring the stroller in and there was a long line so we had to skip it. I figure I'll go back later in the summer when it's not so popular. So we just walked around and saw the animals I thought would be cool. We would walk up and I would pick him up and tell him what it was and he would repeat it. Then he would talk about them. If i was a cool mom i would have made up names for the animals but i was like that looks like a cow. And then ev would say "cow? Horse?" Although there was a cage with cows. It was a lot of fun. He seemed a bit creeped out by the chimpanzees. Here are the animals we saw.

Well I thought the filling would be thicker and the icing was too cold but I'd still call that a successful torting.

I trimmed grace's hair. But I kind of wish I hadn't. I'm sure I'm the only one who will notice.
