My baby boy starts kindergarten next week. :( I'm not ready. It was a really short summer. But I'm sure he'll have a great time. He has an icecream social and orientation early in the week. So we all know what to expect and he gets to meet his teachers and his classmates. We're starting to prep. Most of his supplies are in his book bag waiting for his first day and he got a haircut this morning. We're trying to hold strong with an 8 o'clock bedtime and I have to start conditioning myself to get up earlier and stop sleeping in a bit. We have to work on getting the kids to eat breakfast earlier and quicker. Neither one of them are big on breakfast. Ray and the kids and I are also taking one last trip before the end of summer. Ray's friend Shawn is having a stateside reception in WI. So we've booked a fun aquarium room at a nice resort for the weekend. The kids will be sleeping in by knees. They're so excited. It has a nice beach and waterpark. And I've been working on car activities for the kids for the long drive. I painted cookie sheets with chalkboard paint so they can draw. I also found these cool magnet paperdolls and zoo sets that come with changeable backgrounds and I affixed magnets to some puzzles the kids had. I also glued animal pictures to Popsicle sticks and placed magnets on the back and cut them apart to make little puzzles. And of course were bringing lots of crayons and color pages and we also have a princess and dinosaur create a face sticker book. And lots of snacks and juice boxes. So it should be a fun and relaxing trip for everybody.
