Boulders for construction cake.

I got my first paying job! Will recommended me to a friend at work. Thanks Will! I'm a little nervous. The party is this Saturday and I'm dropping it off a day early since we won't be here. So it's a short time frame. But it should be a fairly straightforward cake. And there's even the promise of repeat work.

Double steaming tonight.

New curtains, rug for the elliptical, leaning mirror, and chair for our bedroom. Still need artwork and maybe a table and lamp.

I'm painting the bathroom tomorrow. We're doing the same color as in the bathroom downstairs but we're adding sand to it for texture. Hopefully it will look great when it's done. Here are some before pictures.

Future gymnasts?

We too the kids to the little gym to try out gymnastics. They really liked it and we're completely worn out afterward.

I made a blanket for Dan's baby who is due in June.

Took the kids to monkey joes to get them exercise and out of the house.

I need to work on the esthetics of my baguettes but it was a really successful winter bake!

I think I've figure out the bread issues I've been having. I thought I just wasn't going to get a good rise in the winter but I filled up a bowl with really bit water twice during the first rise and it was the best rise I've gotten so far. I'm crossing my fingers it works for the second rise. I was so encouraged that instead of only dividing it in two I did two loaves and two baguettes, that I'm letting rise in the new baguette baking rack I bought. I'll have to see how it turns out in the morning.

Evan's a great big brother. He helps Grace by telling her which ones are in the wrong spot and congratulates her on figuring out important parts of the picture.

Yay new cake tools came in! Just waiting for a quilting tool.

The kids like to hang out in the kitchen with me.

And salad. I used my new steamer to soften the veggies and I get to use my new dishes we got as a housewarming present and some of the serveware I got at Christmas!

Evan can now repeatedly spell his first name, he knows his birthday and he knows most of our street name. I also got him to read the hug book. It mostly repeats the word hug but he also remembered what mommy and BoBo looked like so that he read the book by himself. He was pretty proud too. He said he was having a really lucky night. He's so cute. Grace can also count to 10 almost all by herself. And she remembers a lot of the words to her three favorite songs on the frozen soundtrack. It's really cute to hear her sing.
