Evan, Grace, and I waited in line at the apple store with my friend Dorothy and her three year old, David and one year old, Christopher. The ipad 2 was going on sale at 5pm. So we figured getting there at four was plenty of time. Boy were we wrong! The line was ridiculous! It went out from the apple store down the length of the mall and wrapped around and back up the other side past the apple store. When we got there it was a store or two past. By the time we got closer to the door it was all the way down the other side of the mall. So when we got in line the "blue shirts" said that if everyone bought two that there wouldn't be enough by the time it got to us. But we decided to wait because they said that by five they would have vouchers handed out and you'd know if you had one or not. It wasn't till like 6 that we got our voucher and even then they said it only guaranteed an ipad not necessarily the kind or color. So the kids were happy by then, finally sharing the ipad. So Dorothy and I soldiered on. They came around rice to report selling out of the 3GS on the different networks. When we got about five stores away, someone came up and asked the specifics we wanted. When she said, "looks good" I couldn't believe it. We got in not too long after and within ten minutes we were walking out with new ipads and covers. We celebrated by going to California pizza kitchen. I should mention here that our poor husbands were stuck at work until just now actually and that their amazing wives were facing the masses with four kids to score ipads. Although we aren't martyrs we let them know that they owed us big time.
