A poem for Evan from his uncle Will

evan

just a little gift

to this world

basking in a light

with little eyes

focused on a future

we all place on him

but not to take

we build a strong base

uplift for you

so you'll be a star

love will be our guide

and to this little baby

we are in unison

we will love you

even if this world

knocks you down

believe that

no one will let you

go without

we all have your back

even if it rains

from time to time

we will brush your brow

always love, always love

First father's day

For Ray's first father's day we went to Gokul, a local Indian resturant. It was really good. They had a huge lunch buffet. Afterwards we decided to go look at the new 3GS iphone. When we got there the store was packed. We made our way to the iphones and within five minutes Ray had convinced me not only to let him up grade to the new phone, but that I wanted one as well. Ray's really excited. We ended the celebration with brownie sundays.

Announcing Piper Lorelei Danemueller!

It took her a long time to get here. Lins started having contractions at 12 pm Tuesday night. My mom took her to the hospital. They kept her there until 4 am. However, she hadn't dialated and her water hadn't broke so they sent her home and told her to call her doctor at 8 am and see what the doctor wanted to do. When she called they made her an appointment for 10 am. She didn't actually see the doctor till 11 am. He determined that she needed to go to the hospital and that they would induce her. They started her on pitocin around 12:30 or so. She had a hard labor. They wouldn't let her have an epidural until she was 4 cm which took a while. And then they couldn't get the dose right or it wasn't in the right place. So she ended up feeling most of her contractions. She finally made it to 6 cm around 6 or 7 pm. However, it took her until like midnight to get to 7 cm. And by 1 am she was only 8 cm. She was in a lot of pain and they gave her some demarol. It didn't do much. They finally decided to have the anesthesiologist give her a double dose because he figured out she was only getting a half dose. Around 1:30 am she was finally comfortable enough to get some sleep. She started pushing around 4 am and Piper arrived at 6:05 am on June the 11th. She's beautiful and healthy. She ended up being 8 lbs and 20 inches long. They're both doing so well infact that they get to go home tonight. Lins isn't sure she's ready for it but she has lots of help with Sean and my parents around.

Evan has a cousin!

The happy family!

And most important, Evan smiling, sort of.

These last few are some odds and ends that I figured should go up on the site. A picture of the spencer clan from this weekend, mexican food with will and evan looking cute.

Ray was in too much pain to make the trip so Evan and I went down to cape by ourselves for my sister's baby shower. It went really well and she received lots of nice gifts for Piper.

Ray had to have emergency surgery last sunday. He was having terrible stomach pain and we eventually went to the emergency room. They did a catscan and said that it was really enflamed and that it needed to come out right away. She he had surgery and got to come home monday night. Will and Robin watched Evan for us while we were at the hospital all day sunday. And my parents came up and watched him for us sunday night and until we came home monday afternoon. Ray's mom came up monday night and helped with Evan. She ended up staying and helping out for a few days. It was a big help. I was able to help Ray and not have to worry about Ev. Ray's recovering really well. He went back to work today. He said it wasn't so bad but by the end of the day he'd hit his limit.

Evan's getting so big. He's already outgrown the blues outfit uncle Will gave him. I had to put it into storage this week.

Okay I know I'm way behind on updates. This first one is because I promised Lins I'd put one up of Ev and aunt Lins.
