So a few nights ago Ray awoke to the sound of the fan banging against the ceiling in the living room. He turned it off and went back to bed. In the morning we went out and saw that one of the blades had flown off and landed on the coffe table inches away from my ipad. So we bought a new fan yesterday and Ray installed it today. He did a wonderful job and it's a nice update to the living room.

Ray and I bought a pool today, strictly for Evan of course. Ray and I bought new swimming suits and they have the same colors as Evan's so we're a stylin family. We took Evan in after our "BBQ" dinner tonight. He wasn't too sure about it at first but he started splashing and he and Ray were splashing each other after awhile. We didn't stay in too long though because the water was still pretty chilly but it was fun. Ray was really funny swimming around like a polar bear.

Evan can now say "ba" for ball and something that has the sound of thank you if not the letters. He is also into everything. His favorite game is to take turns knocking over the speaker and standing on it to opening "baby secured" cabinets to pulling the reciever off the shelf onto himself. Oh well eventually he'll be interested in his toys right?

A bit of a scare.
Most of you probably won't want to know this but...Ray, Ev, and I
spent a few hours at the hospital this morning. I've been having a bit
of bleeding off and on and it started again last night. I called the
doctor this morning to see if I could move my ultrasound from next
week to this week so I could be sure everything was ok. (When we saw
the doc last week she said everthing looked fine.) Anyway the nurse
said if I was still having issues that I should go to the we-u at the
hospital. So they gave us a room and asked some questions and did
another ultrasound. The midwife said the baby still had a strong
heartbeat. And that sometimes women just bleed and that they deliver
normally. She said to think positive and that we could go home. Anyway
my nausea is better most of the time and besides being tired and
worrying everthing else is good. We're looking forward to a long
weekend.

Road trip.
Ray and I took Evan on his first big trip. We drove to Iowa to see
Ray's mom. It is a four hour drive but with baby time factored in it
took like 6 hours both times. It wasn't too bad though. He slept in
the middle of the trip on the way up and he was fairly entertained.
We had a good time while we were there. We ate godfather's the first.
Night and had icecream for dessert. Evan loved it. He didn't sleep
very well either night and ended up in bed with us every night for a
few hours in the middle of the night.
The next day, mother's day, we had breakfast at Laurie's and after
Evan's nap Ray's uncle Jim, Ray, Evan and I had lunch at a qdoba like
resturant and then we dropped Evan off with Paula and Laurie and The
three of us saw Ironman 2.
On the last day we all had lunch at Olive Garden and then we headed
home. It went good for a while but then Evan got sleepy and bored but
didn't want to take a nap. So we put up with him screaming for like 30
min and stopped for dinner. He wasn't too hungry. So we got back in
the car and had to stop again so I could try to hold him and get him
asleep. He was wide awake as soon as he was out of his chair. So I put
him back in, we turned on sid and luckily he passed out not too long
after. He slept the last hour home and woke up when we brought him in.
Luckily I was able to jammie and diaper him and put him back to bed
and he slept until morning.

Fish anyone?
Evan and I released three pool comet fish into the pond this
afternoon. He wasn't too interested. I'm sure he'll grow to like them.
Hopefully they'll like their new home.

Oh, Itty Bitty! (Ryan you might want to avoid this one)
Evan was walking around and playing in between the gate and the tv. He fell backwards and hit the back of his head on the bottom of the tv stand. He has a bit of a gash and it bled a bit. It wasn't anything crazy. Although Ray and I acted like it was the end of the world. Ev was fine by the time we got him into the bathroom. We we're too but we were ready to take him to the emergency room for stitches. Ray looked it up online and they said as long as the cut was under 3/16 of an inch apart and that it wasn't actively bleeding that stitches were mostly cosmetic. It wasn't that deep and it started clotting quickly so we stayed home and I put antibiotic ointment on it. I'm gonna call the pediatrician tomorrow to see if we need to come in.
