It's official, we get to keep Evan.
So Ray did the taxes last night. It looks like having Evan and the
fact that I'm a stay at home mom gave us a big boost. We can finally
get rid of the last of the doctor bills!
He's happy about it I swear.

Terrors revisited
Our poor little boy just had another night terror. I hate them. He
just screams and I can't do anything but hold him. Stupid night
terrors.

Thank you so much Paula!
I just wanted to say thank you Paula. First of all I really appreciate
that you came up to help with Evan. Even though I didn't physically
rest, mentally I got a bit of a recharge. (Evan has been up every few
hours the last two nights.) Also the cake you left was really good.
Secondly, the suggestion of using the sprayer for Evan's bath worked a
whole lot better. I use to use it but he got a bit scared so I
stopped. The way I've been doing it, I fill the tub with like 5
inches of water and let his toys float around. Lots of problems arise
this way though. One, his toys float off and he either tries to get up
and get them or he reaches really far and I'm afraid he's going to
wipe out. Two, he wants to stand up. I'm afraid he's either going to
slip or get a big mouth full of water and choke. The last few nights
we've been wrestling in the tub. He tries to stand and I try to get
him to sit. Even though he's a little guy he always wins. Third, I lay
him down in the water to rinse his hair. Sometimes he's fine and he
plays with a toy on his chest or splashes his feet (very cute). Other
times he looses his toy and looks side to side to find it. Not good,
waters waiting. Or he just doesn't want to lay down. The last problem
is when it comes to get him out. I have to wait for the water to drain
to dry him off. I've tried to dry him while it's draining but if I do
more than his hair I usually end up getting the towel wet. And he
usually gets bored and wants to stand up. When I get him out and stand
him on the rug he wants to play with the toilet seat. Not my idea of a
good baby toy.
So tonight I sat him down on the mat and turned on the sprayer. We
have one that detaches and has a hose, very handy. Besides
accidentally spraying my leg, it went really well. It was even fun
again. His aunt Lindsay got him this cool bath set for christmas. It
has fish and little cups and boats and stuff and a container to keep
them in. So I sat the whole bucket in the tub in front of him. He
stayed busy pulling the toys out of the bucket and playing with the
sprayer every once in awhile. He even looked at me once while I was
spraying him down and smiled (so sweet). It was also easier to rinse
his hair and I didn't have to wait for the tub to drain so I could dry
him off before he got bored. So once again thank you for making things
easier on me. You're a great mother in law!

Alright!
I can finally fit into my prebaby jeans without them strangling me. It
took me as long as it did to have Evan. So I'd say that's pretty good.
Especially since I haven't put much effort into it.

Poor
Poor Evan has a virus and the start of an ear infection. He was up a
lot last night and had a fever of 101. We saw the doctor this morning
and she prescribed amoxicillin. I have to pick it up when he gets up.
Hopefully he'll start feeling Better soon.

Monkey comfort
Evan is sook cute. He put himself to sleep tonight by cuddling up next
to his monkey and falling asleep with his head on it's stomach. I
would have put up a picture but come on he's sleeping.

back to the track (treadmill)
Okay so I had to stop exercising because with Evan it was just to hard
to find time. However, I'm getting back on the running wagon. Evan is
sleeping 1.5-2 hrs during his morning nap. So since I can pretty much
depend on that, I'm going to start using that time for me.
A few things have prompted my renewed enthusiasm. The first is the new
year as well as Evan's improved sleeping habits. I'm usually not one
for resolutions, mainly because I don't think they work for me. But I
still have about 20 lbs to loose before I'm back to pre-baby weight.
So I'm going to use the new year momentum to get me started.
The second motivating factor, Ray's best friend Dan is now engaged.
They've decided to get married sometime this summer. I would like to
loose some weight so I can look nice for the wedding and so I can have
energy to chase around Evan who will probably be running full steam by
then.
The third reason, we've created an exercise room. If we don't exercise
than what was the point. We moved our treadmill and eliptical upstairs
so it would be more convenient and so I don't have to worry about Evan
sleeping upstairs while I'm downstairs.
